Default Spring snows just across the border, maybe this year....

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

At least on the western end of SK anyways. Snowline very open in the SW of SK and the path to the south may bring them up that way. Leading edge is pushing into central SD as we speak. Lots can change in a couple weeks as well. They have pushed NW before, time will tell.

Need some major meltage here before the season open April 1st.

a lot of snow has melted around regina in the last couple of days but the stubble is still full. Towards the Alberta border there is barely any snow left. Saw my first canada goose yesterday, but the white birds are aways away yet. Should be an interesting spring hunt, gonna be a ton of water to deal with

I am in the wait and see mode on Sask this year. Hope the fields are cleared enough to make the birds come north by the time we go. Lot of snow in the northern states as I hear it of late. Might need to take a boat.

This years 2nd push of non breeders should be pretty amazing for decoying. There should be no shortage of water for sure.....

I always like to get out a few times during the first push of breeding birds. They are always a bit more relaxed once they enter Canada.

I will definitely save a few hunts for later in the migration to cash in on the great juvie hatch last season.

Snows are pushing into Southern ND checking for open water and fields. Most are heading back south later in the day.
