Default Take a kid to work day

November 7th, or thereabouts is "Take your kid to work" day at my son's school. Now, I could take him to the office downtown, but that would be plain boring for him (as it often is for me). Since I impersonate a freelance outdoor writer from time to time, I figured I'd take him out hunting! Outdoor writers hunt as part of their business, so I figured that'd be legit.

My boy is 13, not really sporty, and all I usually do is climb mountains like a madman. I'm a bit short on knowledge of relatively easily accessible places where one could kill a duck or two, or a hun, or a coyote or some such... just a spot or two where a father and son could hang out for a few hours, and possibly kill something that we can then cook up and feed the family (not the coyote). I thought that might be a positive experience for the lad (only marginally interested in the weird stuff his dad does in the outdoors).

Any suggestions on places to go?

Frans (living just NW of Calgary)

Like I said, he's not that interested in the outdoors. This is an excuse to get him out with me.
