Hunting/ fishing lience going up !
Hunting and fishing lienses are going up next year, and we will not get anything directly back for it.
Except maybe anouther frog study !
These are the changes as a sportsmen I demand !
1) Sunday hunting across Alberta
2) Atv morning hunting
3) crownland zone for bowhunters ( For all season 1 hr from Edmonton
4) Camp grounds along some of the hyws are no longer there.
They should be returned and should be free for one night camping, for
travelers
5) This one is for the Fishermen.
Allow 2 fishing rods in open water .
4 rods for ice fishing
6) Wabamun lake to become a Thophy catch and release lake for pike .
7) More hyw check stops ,like they used to have !
Do you agree we should get something back for an increase next year ?

I like a couple things youve listed there, but i think they are things that should just automatically become reality, licencing price increases or not. A couple of the things i dont agree with, and no doubt will never happen!!! As far as getting anything granted to outdoorspeople due to an increase in prices, i believe across the board we could be looking at a big fat.... .
keep a strain on er.

Prices
Price increases are not that bad. Deer/elk/moose are now going to be $36.45 if I remember correctly from the semimar Alberta Conservation Assoc. put on in my town a few weeks ago. Very poor turn out. All the money for the increase goes directly to the ACA to benefit we hunters. Any ???, give them a call. I met the President of the Assoc. with a few other board members that evening. Very informative. I did not make it the the seminar till after 8pm (open till 9pm) due to family commitments but the guys stayed and talked till almost 10pm. They listened to my concerns & opinions on various topics related to hunting & fishing.

Well if we are going to have a dream list.. Here is my 2 cents worth
Allow X-bows in the Bow seasons
Sunday hunting in all of Alberta
Allow Albertans access to buy outfitter tags
Double or triple the amount it costs to hunt Pheasants. Release 2-3x the birds and increase the limit to 3-4 per day.
Vehicle access on lease land should be mandatory with no vehicles being the exception. (Keep on trails ect ect)
This no quad rule before 12 is stupid, get rid of it.
More enforcement of current laws.
Just a few ideas.

Are you sure it's the government increasing licence fees or is the ACA levy going up. If that's the case, they have no direct say in the management of our wildlife or the regulations so you are kind of wasting your breath.

Since we're all dreaming about things we'd like to see for the extra $4/tag, heres my list:
Sunday hunting across the board.
NO HUNTING with a quad PERIOD. My definition of the word hunting is everything leading up to killing an animal. After that, use it all you want to get it out.
I like Jamies idea of tripling pheasant license costs and dumping more birds. I'd be happy to pay $100/year to hunt pheasants if it meant seeing more and more released birds gettin away and reproducing.
X Bows only for those not able to draw a compound/recurve.
No vehicle access on leased lands for the purpose of hunting. See above lol.

El Diablo. Be careful what you wish for. I am a quad owner and do not hunt off it. It does, however, get my wife and I access to hunting that would not be attainable. As you get older you will understand where I'm coming from. I also have a cousin that hunted with us this year and he,s had two strokes and vein work on his lower leg and still wants to hunt. Should we deny him access as well. There are lots of other disabled and older hunters out there. Remember, when rules are made, if you don't fit a category now, you may in the future. You are entitled to your opinion but there are other factors and hopefully when and if rules change some of these factors are taken into consideration.

Just a Dream
Since this is just a dream, I like to add to my dream list
1)certain zones are zero Atv all year and this includes horses.
and the rest is for ATV ,horses or what ever you want.
2) Have a choice in buying 4 tags at $40.00 each for the year, or
Just one master Tag for $100. allowing you to take only one animal of any speices .
3) Have zones closed for x amount of years from hunting
4) Natives must have tags to hunt ,but free of charge .
5)And all weekend are changed to 3 days off instead of 2 days

Spend any of the extra money on legal fees to persecute(sp) major violators. Throw the book at them. Also please spend any extra money on on habitat conservation.

Money just goes into general revenue then it is split up into yearly budgets
last year our budget included the frog study and payed for a frog tunnel under a road so the little guys would not get run over .
Just google Alberta Frog Study

After first hearing about this, I read everything I could about the ACA. I was truly amazed how high of a percentage of their budget actually ends up on the ground helping wildlife and wild places. If people are concerned about the amount spent on non game species, ask yourself if you would enjoy being out there if you didn't see some of the other critters every outing.
As for an increase in fees, what hasn't gone up at least 1 or 2 percent in the past year let alone since the last time licenses went up

Think you are missing the point JR....there is a levy on our licences that goes to a non-profit group called the Alberta Conservation Association (they are not a part of government).....a portion goes to ISM for the computer system.....a portion goes to the vendor....and the remainder goes to general revenue for the government of Alberta. The ACA has been lobbying for an increase in their levy but as I stated before they have no direct incluence over game management or regulations. So who is it you are talking about????????

Not taking sides on this one but the ACA does get a good percentage of their funds from sources other than anglers and hunters.....quite possibly including some frog lovers.
