Default mulies around calling lake, or in 511

heading up that way in a couple weeks and looking for some insight on where there might be some mulies in 511, preferably in the south part of the zone. Is it generally crown land?

thanks.

I have seen the odd Mulie in 511.....

I have seen them in the central area.....I have seen them south in the farmland, to date I haven't seen them around calling lake though...but south of calling (509) I have.....

There is definitely the odd one scattered around.....

Right north of the town of smith is most of the farmland other than that 511 is mostly crown land. There are a few Mulies around most of the ones i have seen are in the farmland, along the athabasca river or up in the martin hills. you see the odd one between those points but not to often.

It will be near impossible to find a mule buck in 511 of any size.

There are a few in Martin Hills but not very many. There are also a few in the south part of the zone but you will more then likely be shot just for asking for permission.

I saw a Mulie doe in 511 last year- in the Crown land off the 1000 rd- but I have hunted there a lot and that is the only Mulie I've ever seen. I also hunt 516 to the east of 511, and have only seen two mulies there in my life (both were bucks, and both are now dead- partner shot one in 04 and one in 05, both small)- like everyone else is saying I do not think you can find a big Mulie buck, and it may be a real challenge to find one at all.
