Peace River Mulies
Here are some pics of the Mulie bucks my dad and I got this year up in Peace River. The one without velvet is his (it still had the blood on the antlers though) and the one still in velvet is mine, taken the next evening. His was in a standing crop in the morning, quite a pull out by hand, but worth it. Mine we had seen that night, but it was too dark to be sure how big it was, and it was pretty far off. We set up the next night in a better position, and right before dark, our patience paid off. He walked out broadside at about 100 yards, one shot, straight down. The last picture is taken through a spotting scope at high power. The deer is almost the twin of the one I shot (a bit smaller), we saw him in the same field as mine both days.
Strange to see twin bucks like that still in velvet in late September, but pretty cool.

yes, his left side had 7 points (counting the brow tine) but when he went down he smashed the one small sticker so that it was only hanging on by the velvet. He was actually in perfect velvet, hadn't lost any, but he smashed that sticker on the left and split open the velvet on the right side when he went down and thrashed a bit (shot went through the tops of both lungs and clipped the spine).
