Chicago screws 2 piece sling screw
Does anyone know where one can get a couple brass screws. I have lost a couple out of my leather sling and would like to replace them. Local to Calgary hopefully.
Thanks,
Tullfan

I would phone some gun shops. I would think a well stocked gun shop would have what you are looking for.

X 2 on Tandy Leather, they're just off Macleod slightly south of 75th Ave where the road loops under Macleod Trail adjacent the railway. Just south of to the recently closed Lloyd's Rollercade and Tom's House of Pizza.
I usually see Chicago Screws in most gun shops as well, you might luck out in Bass Pro or Cabela's being you're in the North end IIRC. You'll like Tandy Leather though, one tends to finds ideas in there.

Lammle's or the western store on the east side of QE11 there in Airdrie might be a close place to look as well.
I use either Lepage's white glue or a dab of my chartreuse nail polish in the female end of the screw, keeps them from coming loose when you're in the hills!

If you're out of chartreuse you can always use magenta!
I've had lots of service calls where faucet washer screws backed out and made for a chattering faucet or a leak. Being as one would not want chemical thread lockers in their water supply I would instead take my Leatherman pliers and botch up the washer screw threads a bit, but not the lead threads, I would tweak them after the second full revolution and back from there. Just a mild blemish does the trick.

I strongly agree with the suggestion of using some sort of good adhesive when using Chicago screws. Over the years I have experienced many times these screws coming loose and falling off of my horse tack rendering them useless.
