I would say a monster,,, My goodness what huge bull.. I had no idea they grew them that big out there... I was always under the understanding that they were a smaller moose than ours out here but that is a big animal in horns and in body.. I would think that thing would be a contender for some sort of record out there no....

Holy cow.....er, Bull!
Thanks for the pics. Yeah Walleyes, they get that big down there, but for sure that bull is a monster. Some of the moose in Newfoundland are massive also, just not alot of pics come out of there. For an introduced species, they now say that there are more moose than people on the island.

It just looks big, sitting in the back of a Dodge Dakota!
Seriously, moose out east are big... Lots of monsters in ON, QC and NB... Bigger than what I've seen in AB.

that is a huge moose, it would look good on the wall. Very surprised that the front of that dodge is not looking at the sky...

Cripes, forgot to mention in my first post, but notice the leaves on the trees. They're having an unbelievable fall out there. They are still green and only just starting to turn.

That is an impressive moose ...no matter where it comes from. Nice going...
Been thinking about booking a hunt in Newfoundland for 2008 for woodland caribou and moose... the trip will be fun but a big fella like that ....I can only wish. Think about how much "fun" those two fellas had getting him into the truck

I would say that truly is a monster bull. When all that moose is eaten I would say that all who eat it are (Full of Bull).

the guy on the left in the photo is a New Brunswick Forest Ranger putting on a tag at the registration station. We have to register all of our moose, deer and bears.
The bull above was shot on September 27 in the Northern Part of the province. I don't know the whole story.
It's not all that hard to load them into a pick up. We have some super huge bulls in our province. They only give 3000 tags out of 60 000 applicants. The season is only 3 days and there are some huge brutes shot every year. 1000 pounds field dressed and 60 inches wide is achievable.
This one will surely score high in New Brunswick record book. I have no idea what he scores. A lot of people have been talking about this one and for good reason. The final score will be known soon.
Just make a tripod of of birch trees. Tie the tops together and place them wide enough apart to back a truck under the moose that is hanging by a $40 2000lb hoist that you can buy at Princess Auto.
Work good in the field too considering most moose are shot in cuttings or logging roads. Just need a chain saw and some good hardwood trees. The photo below is one from a few years ago in Gaspe, Quebec.
another one hanging from the tripod method. This is pretty slick and works in the bush too!
