Default Trout lake BC August Long

Spent the weekend up at Trout Lake in BC fishing was pretty slow and the lake was quite smokey from the fire in Nakusp. Great camping trip though, fish finally started to bite the last night we were there and did manage to get this 4-5 lb dolly

Nice Dolly.

I'm heading to Beaton (left instead of right and the gravel) on Monday for 2 weeks. Can not wait! Going to hit Staubert, Armstrong and maybe Trout if I can coax my F.I.L to trailer the boat up from our place. Plus all the little streams in between.

Cheers
Dan

How big is trout lake? I usually end up in the ball tournament in Nakusp on the August long weekend and I've been tempted to bring my belly boat out. I've seen the turnoff to trout lake, but have never had much of a chance to explore the Nakusp area. What a change from going from +35 C on Saturday in Nakusp to +11 C in Calgary when I got home yesterday

Yeah no doubt, it was almost like going from somewhere tropical and flying back to calgary in the winter or something! Trout lake is really big, about 30 KM long i think? I did bring a couple of U boats with me for friends to kick around in because i couldn't bring everybody on the boat. They never had any luck on the boats but did have fun kicking around in the 75 degree water, was it ever hot there!
