Default Elk Hunting Decoys

I have an area pretty well patterned up north. Private land. In early season the elk move undeterred from bed to crop and so on. Rifle season they are pretty shy and I have found that they tend to feed at night and mozy on back to the thick stuff during the first light hrs.
Basically wondering if decoying with a Montana Elk Decoy in archery season has brought anyone success? They seem to be a good ingredient for the bull to key on while searching for a hot cow. Good purchase for $130 or snake oil? I really believe a good decoy works for antelope. Why not elk....
Enlighten me

I've had success setting mine up in the woods and bush. But I've never had any luck setting up in an open field. Using some scent with the decoy helps.

Yes they work...but during rifle season be very selective on placement

Yeah I've thought of that too. Last thing you want is to be in the line of fire. Probably a bow only tactic I would employ.
