Default jan 2018 elk draw

Hunting partner drew a anterless elk tag in 310 ,plan to make a run down later in the week ,i was wondering any siteings,info,on elk in that area---going cold turkey in a new area always tough,would appreciate any help.

At least -30's have broke to this point. Hope you find some elk down there

There are lots of elk in that zone and there is lots of permission to be had, as many land owners see elk as a nuisance.. The problem is that the elk move back to where there is no hunting at first light. They know!

Best bet is find someone with a feed lot or bails that are getting pillaged, and be waiting before first light, because they do know as CR said. If there is any amount of snow down there, it isn't fun going after them in the thick stuff. Much nicer to shoot one at first light and have a farmer with a tractor there to hoist it.

Canuck, excellent example of a "Barn yard Elk shoot" sorry hunting an elk in heavy bush in fair chase separates the men from the boys.
