Hey bird, if I'm lucky enough to get drawn I was just gonna drive around with my trailer until I see 249 other trailers and set up shop lol I don't know the area at all so I've been hoping there are a few spots to set up camp for the hunt. Be nice to be camped near some other guys to swap stories in the evenings.

The Prairie Dust Motel in Jenner has camper hook ups. Not sure about water in the middle of winter. It's about a 20 minute drive to Ralston.

Quick q
Just curious as I never applied in a group before for hunting. It asks what members are hunting or actually to add more members with a maximum of two members. Does this mean that if I apply myself that u can't have anyone tag along to help remove the animals if drawn? Should I apply with my friend using his win as well? And I apologize if this sounds stupid but the obvious answer would be apply separate to better your chances.
Also wondering if people who have been successfully drawn for elk are eligible. Thanks guys

I just entered the draw and added my buddy, submitted everything. Then he went through the draw and entered me as his group member, but it wouldn't let him complete the application. When he checked his order history it has the elk draw listed as if he is in the draw. I'm hoping this means he gets to fill one of the two tags if I'm drawn. Other wise it feels like I just screwed his chance to get a tag.

you just applied as partners... if you get drawn you'll both get drawn and have 4 tags between you. or neither of you will get drawn.

It means if you are both drawn you each get 2 tags.

I'm not sure if it has been answered here yet but would my 13 year old be able to hunt on the base or do you have to 18 and older? It would double my chances of getting some meat in the freezer.

Anyone have any idea on how many people will apply?
Wondering my odds of being drawn.
Not sure to book the time off work now or wait to see if I'm drawn.

I'd wait if possible. I'm guessing odds will be low.

No need to guess, odds of being drawn will be very low.
Most hunters froth at the mouth when it comes to elk meat.

Just put in a group draw.
Sorry for being "that guy", but I just want to be clear about the group draw.
I put in as group leader, and put my brother as the other member of the group. It only charged me for one draw entry.
So we're both entered now? Or does he have to do something yet?
Sorry for not reading all the 400 or so replies to this thread to search for the answer. Its a big thread.

He doesn't need to do anything. On group draws, you only pay the application fee once. If you are drawn, both of you will receive 2 tags each.

Over 11,000 and not over.
I think it's 250 licenses/11,000 applications now or about 2.2% drawn. Kind of fun if you're the ones drawn. I hope some of the lucky ones post their good fortune and gloat a bit. It would be fun to know someone drawn even if it's cyberspace.

I called SRD about this and getting drawn for Suffield does NOT impact any priorities or abilities to draw in fall 2015 for any Elk Draws, Moose, etc... ie: if one gets drawn for Suffield Cow Elk hunt, one can still buy a general Bull Elk tag in the fall if you wish.
