I called Prophet River with an order for a couple things yesterday morning. By that afternoon I had confirmation of the order saying it was shipped. Today I picked the order up at the post office. Now that is SERVICE!!!!

Not only is it the best gun shop I've done business with, I think it's one of the best run businesses I've ever done business with.

Clayton Smiley could open any business using his skill set/philosophy and he'd be successful. They don't get any better.

They set the bar for customer service, other businesses could learn a lot from them.

I have dealt with Clay a few times. Awesome customer service. In 2015 Winchester made a limited run (250) of the 1873 sporter 44-40 and he was able to get one for me. Phil.

Totally agree, and his staff all reflect that too. I've dealt with a few of his employees and they have all given first rate friendly service. They are a fantastic bunch for sure.

I agree, Clay has a great operation there. He's a nice guy too. I've met him a number of times.

This guy gives awesome customer service! I might have told this story before, however it is worth repeating. I purchased my RCBS Chargemaster from Clay. There was a rebate attached, I clipped and sent in all that was required, however for some reason my purchase was not ''eligible'' One e-mail to Clay and I had a cheque from Federal Premium so fast it was unbelievable. Orders show up within 2 days for sure and sometimes the next afternoon! Thank God his shop isn't in Edmonton! I'd be broke!

Last gun I got from him had a small ding in the stock. It was like that from his supplier because the box was not open. I contacted Clay and sent a picture. He reached out to his supplier immediately and it was taken care of. I have bought a few guns from him and every order was quick and painless. If other companies I have to deal with ran like that, I might just get faith back in customer service again.

I also like that his website is up to date. If its on the site, they have it. Shipping is always extremely fast.

My experience with them has been highly favorable. The last transaction involved a scope I couldn't find anywhere else. I was a little surprised that after several days the tracking showed that my scope had not made been mailed yet. No biggie but not the usual service I've come to expect from them, the scope showed up the next day having been sent priority at no extra cost.

I figured that was pretty good, on realising they hadn't got it into the mail on a timely manner they ensured I still got my scope in time and ate the cost.

I am still mad at him. He stopped being a teacher here to go run his store. He was an awesome math teacher, and my kids just loved him. The new air waster they brought in paled in comparison.
And yes, excellent service from him. The jerk.

I stop in a couple times a month. Love the selection. I'm sure they've had their issues to but a really solid business and I buy there what I can. Reloading selection is one of the best I've seen.

I have spoke to Clay a number of times and he wished he had a .25 for every time a guy(s) asked him to open a store in Calgary.

There are some great guys here that would work their azzes off for him.

Can you imagine the on-line customer service Prophet River provides, being equaled at the counter......Count me in....

Personally, I hope Clay doesn't expand, as I question whether the service would remain the same with a larger operation, where Clay isn't present at the store. While he has hired excellent staff, I believe that Clay is the reason that the business functions as well as it does.

I agree 100%.
I live in Lloydminster and shop there a lot, and he is definitely the back bone of that business and does an amazing job.

Spoken with him a few times, he has a M.Sc in physics as well as the usual undergrad degrees. Likely helps with the understanding in ballistics etc!

Bought couple magnum research’s, off of them, very nice wares, engaged with multiple employees, if one didn’t know the answers or the questions could be better answered, they’d pass off to the next guy who was more than eager to help. That was a couple of years ago, two words to describe these guys is passion and diversity, good quality pretty much everything. Very good vibe!
