Talking Gas mileage poor

FINALLY got to drive the car. Gets about 6 miles per gallon (VP C-111)

I do not have the front air dam on or the scoop snorkle. Later. Need an off set air cleaner & mounting hardware for the air dam.

Pulls like a freight train !
Heart rate was likely around 200, palms sweating & grinning the whole time !

3800/3900 RPM at 60 miles per hour. 3:91 gears (or so I was told).

Bad news....as anyone that has built something like this, you expect "bugs".

Lost 2nd then 1st. Not sure if it's the shifter or the fork in the Super T-10.

Going (back) up on jack stands today......

Good for you Reeves! The shakedown run almost always results in surprises. The engine compartment looks very well organized!

Poor fuel mileage but at least you are doing your part in keeping the oil & gas industry going...

Nice wheels, love those oldies

There's nothing under that hood that says fuel economy!! A great looking tidy installation, and I'm sure it'd be a blast to drive!👍

Fantastic!
I was wondering when you would finally quit building and be able to drive it- now the wrenching really begins!!

Awesome job. Need the burnout pic with copious amounts of smoke.

Poor fuel economy but no rice rocket can give you the rush of pure horse power well worth it

Super T-10s were used by Ford, GM, Mopar & likely others as well.

Stronger than the RUG trans.

Mine has the smaller input / output , but the car is only about 2600 lbs. - hope it lasts.....if not I'll go to a top loader , or ?

You don't need a tranny in that pimento ,

Just weld the driveshaft to the pressure plate !

I wonder if the owners of the Prius get the same rush the first time they take their cars out for a spin ........ lol ...... good on you. The 10 minutes you burned around was the best $20 in fuel you have ever spent !!!!!

Any plans to fuel inject it? I’ve been having good luck with the 502 Boss hoss’s. Making great power and will support nitrous.

I remember a couple of Pinto's growing up. My grandmother had a 1972, white with orange vinyl top/interior and my mom had a burgundy 1979. I would like to have taken the engine/transmission out of a 87/88 T-bird Turbo Coupe and put into a Pinto. I know it's been done quite a few times, makes for a bit of a sleeper

Guy in Calgary has a 2.3 in a 71 Pinto & is turning in the mid 9s in the 1/4.

But he doesn't have the thunder of a BOSS 302, like I do

Car is rude loud !
Wife had her 07 Ranger out so I could check spedo reading. Pulled up in front of her later & she said my car was shaking & rattling her truck

AMC also used them, a buddy had a 1969 AMX with 390 and the ST-10 in it. Was a great set up.

I had a cousin who built up a really nice Vega GT with a small block and lot's of nice work done to it. That thing was crazy fast.

Something really neat about some of the smaller "muscle" cars of that period that's pretty cool.

Some big shoes on the back and you had all the traction you needed to staple you to the seat when you dropped the hammer.

Anybody remeber the Plymouth (Mitsubishi) 'Arrow', they made them late 70s to about '80 if I'm not mistaken. A real ugly junker imo, they never caught on...but back about 1987 or so I ran into one in Edmonton, I had a '72 Mustang with 302 in it and he pulled up to me and wanted to go...I laughed a bit, and then he absolutely dusted me, he launched so hard he yanked his front wheels a couple inches. Back end was squirming around like an excited puppy and just....gone! I caught up to him a mile down th road at a DOMO filling up, and I had to see what was going on. He was laughing pretty good at me, raised the hood and there was a serious 340 sitting in there, no fender walls, firewall all beat in with a sledge hammer to make room. It was the ultimate ugly little sleeper, but dang was that thing fast. Apparently he and his buddies got drunk and decided to do this on a weekend, for a lark, before putting it properly into a Duster it belonged in. He did say it was a bit hard to handle....no kidding! Funniest little car I ever got humiliated by!
