For me, moving 1 hour forwards or backwards is no big deal. I don't care either way. What is more of interest is that people want to change time zones. I didn't know that was even an option. Sounds like people have too much time on their hands to me ... or is it not enough?

Look at the daylight 1/2 before 1/2 after times now...

Let’s use Red Deer,
Sunrise 8:04 Sunset 16:36 current time change. Hunting done at 5:06.

Wouldn’t you rather be able to sleep in a bit and start hunting at 8:34, and stop hunting at 6:06?

The rest of the local World goes on an 8-4 or 9-5 schedule....I want that tail end hour of daylight.

Voted to oust it. I've always disliked it anyway.

I wrote to our groovyment to ask why there wasn't third option.
This is their reply;

Quote:
Thank you for visiting the Alberta Government feedback web site. Following is the response to your question prepared by Service Alberta :

Thank you for your inquiry.

We’ve seen that, generally speaking, other jurisdictions have been moving towards remaining on daylight time rather than standard time, and moving to standard time permanently would put us out of sync with those jurisdictions.

Thank you for your feedback and we will keep it in mind as we review the survey responses.
That actually makes a lot of sense to me. If I could I'd change my vote to daylight saving time year round.

The NDP wanted to scrap time change also, but they wanted to remain on Standard time. It was not well received and therefore shelved.
These guys have the right idea in my opinion.
We'd be just like our neighbors to the east.

32 years. Days Nights Afternoons.

Would like the extra hour of daylight in the afternoon.

How one hour of change 2 x a year can mess with someone makes no sense to me. But if I don’t look at my watch I can tell you what day of the week it is.

Vote whatever you want. Kenney will do what ever ****es Trudeau off the most.

Pretty much every job I've ever had requires getting up before dawn for most of the year, so I'm good with getting that extra hour or daylight once work is over.

So Alberta wants to move from MST to CST and B.C. and some other U.S. states want to move from PST to MST.
