While we’re at it; anyone recommend a blaze king dealer around the peace area, or suggestions on equivalent quality stoves/preferred dealers.

This. I bought a new flue pipe from them, seemed like a decent outfit. They also have a location in Edmonton.

We put a Pacific Energy wood burning insert in our old firebox about 15 years ago, have had no issues whatsoever. I think that it was made in Courtney. Purchased at Northern Fireplace in Edmonton, installed it myself and had it certified. They sell quite a few brands and seemed to be fairly helpful, but some of their stuff is pretty pricey. They also had a list of installers I think.

Might want to check some of the Co-Op stores in the surrounding area, they might sell some too.
