Time to verify PAL for a purchase

Cabela's has a flintlock kit on sale out of stock online can't ship from a store, blah, blah
I'll be passing through Saskatoon, anybody know how long it would take for them to verify my license ?

Muzzleloaders made after 1898

All matchlock, flintlock and wheel lock long guns are considered antiques no matter when they were made. Like older firearms of these types, they are exempt from the licence and registration requirements set out in the Firearms Act.

Hello,

Even though a flintlock may be exempt they may have their own “store policy” or not be familiar with the firearms act. Typically verification is relatively instantaneous - pretty much the time it takes to log in and enter the info required - which is the data on your PAL PLUS a valid email and your place of birth as per your PAL application.

The follow up
The guys at the counter were aware no PAL required the problem was the computer wouldn't release it from the firearm inventory for sale without a verified license they fixed the problem after about 20 mins. of head scratching and a couple phone calls.

I was going for a kit ended up buying the finished full stock Kentucky rifle 33.5"barrel all I need now is a coon skin cap.

BTW they had some BR-4 small rifle primers for $19.99 a pack of 100

I was in the Cabelas Edmonton South location a couple weeks back. While I was buying a scope, there was a guy at the counter having to show his PAL to purchase one of those cheesy blackpowder kit rifles.

Why is it cheesy? It’s it basically the same gun as the finished BP on the rack the difference is you finish the stock and assemble the rifle.

I bought one of their smoke poles in 50 cal a few years back. Sure it’s not the quality of a few of my others, but I have taken a few deer on my place with it and it feels and shoots fine. Still working as it should every time.

I'm not adjusting the sights till I get over the click bang first couple I flinched to the right. 75 grs. 3F (all I have) round ball, used crushed 3F for priming.
