Default Hornady Hornet ammo, 45 gr SP, 50 count?

Looking for this ammo but no luck. Anyone seen it anywhere in Canada?

I have never seen Hornady Factory 22 Hornet ammo anywhere in Canada. I have used their bullets lots in hand loads and they work great, but no already loaded. Tag for interest to see if there is some up here.

Interesting. I went to the site you have posted, hit the find a retailer, gave Lloydminster as an address, and they came up with Sheps sports and Magnum gun. Now I had already checked Prophet River and they have two or three pages of Hornady ammo, no 22 Hornet, I wonder why they aren't listed.

There is a thread on today about 17 caliber and some one comments about ordering from Cabelas. Have you tried ordering some?

I was the one that suggested ordering the 17 hornet by Hornady but i had seen it on the shelf and it is listed in cabelas choices. I have also been succesful ordering it through them. I have never seen the 22 hornet hornady there. Might be worth checking though for sure.

22 hornet is one round where you can save money reloading, it might be worth a look.

Russell Sports used to handle them as well lots of other things you can't get now, miss them.

You may try Flys out in High River they may be able to order them in for you.

If your not adament about them being the Hornady brand the attached is probably equivalent to the Hornadys.

Big time! Last time I bought a couple boxes of Hornet for reference and brass, I believe in was about $72 and $84(!!?) for a box of Winchester and Remington.

Reloading brings it down to about 13 or 14 bucks a box.

Thanks guys. I am a reloader and currently building a bench. Progress is slow due to serious health problems. I'll probably be reloading by early spring at the latest.

I have a 223 CZ 527 project planned first for my new, used, Cz 527s. I'm fond of Hornady brass and find the best way to acquire it is loaded. I stocked up on Hor 223 55gr Sp, 50count to shoot while working on my reloading cave. The last box of Winchester Hornet 45gr SP was a disappointment so I'm considering options.

PRVI is a possible alternative or just waiting to reload later. Cabela's does show availability of Hor Custom 40gr Vmax but $30 for 20 count. One of the online ammo outfits show it stocked Hor 35gr Vmax, 25 count, once but been out of stock forever. Hornet is often hard to find and stupid expensive. Still I really like my little Handi Rifle Hornet.

Federal used to and still might make what you are asking for: 22 hornet 45 grain soft point.

If you are going to reload anyhow just buy Privi brass. It is cheap and the best Hornet brass short of Norma. Far superior to most na stuff. I have privi with more than 25 loads. I have never lost a case. It is far cheaper than buying loaded.

Default Hornet

Love my Handi Hornet as well Bob. Been reloading for it for a while now due to cost of factory ammo. Hornady 45 grain bullets, Remington cases and H110. Very accurate in my handi rifle. That said the prvi ammo is well priced, might try a box and see if my rifle likes it. Good to have options

Win 296 same as H110 as well IMR 4227 works well. Is your Hornet a 1=16 " twist ? If so it may not shoot the 50gr.

My Handi Hornet is an oddity. In the last production era H&R reduced costs by using a 1-9 twist 223 barrel blanks for the Hornet. It is one thing that drew me to this rifle. A factory 9 twist Hornet is quite an oddity. That is also why I gravitate to the heavier 45gr bullet weights in factory loads. Here is a thread regarding this:

I've been looking for the Hornady 45 grain 22 hornet rounds myself lately... It might be easier to get them if someone ordered a case - rather than a single box of ammo. This might be a bit pricey but it would provide lots of brass for reloads.
