Default Committee to Scrap Gun Registry

I just now heard on the news, Harper is setting up a committee to look at scrapping the gun registry ASAP.

Has anyone heard more on this?

Default gun reg...

Just what you said Tuc. It's in today's Sun & it's encouraging to see politicians begin to fulfill their campaign promises. Methinks the best way to end this is to starve it to death by redirecting funds away from it. Sure could use the money in other areas like law enforcement etc.
I'm sure we don't have a problem with handgun registration as we've never had it any other way, but long gun registation is absolutely no solution to the crime rate in our country.
Go for it Vic Toews.... do your thing!!!!!!!

Way to go! I'll have to pick up a copy of the Sun today. Thx!

You know, if they let him govern, Harper maybe just what we've been looking for. He's already tackled a couple of the issues on his agenda and he's barely PM. I think he knows his strategies too. Get at it while the Libs are still in limbo.

Scary thoughts, but they will try and regain power.

Just read the article online at Canada.com. Looks like they're gonna starve the registery by cutting off the funding.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper promised voters during the election campaign that the long-gun registry would be scrapped and money redirected to public safety.

The Tories promised to reinvest savings from scrapping the gun registry into hiring police and assisting victims of crime, but may find there is less cash available than meets the eye.
Ahhh, I don't want to sound to over confident yet, but I am proud I voted Conservative! :hat

Default Great news.

It seems like common sense is happening regarding this damn gun registry. All we needed was a little change of government. This is GREAT news!!!!
Now lets go after the real criminals who are robbing, stealing and shooting the good people of this country. Put any future
"wasted" tax dollars towards going after real crime.

Default Scrapping gun registry

Heard Stockwell Day on talk radio this afternoon talking about scrapping registry. Lets see if the PC,s words can be turned into action before the Liberals get back on their feet.
