rebore costing?

Anybody had a rebore on a rifle barrel done lately, looking for a ballpark cost to see if there is much $ advantage over a new barrel when all is said and done?

Yes, pre 64 model 70 actually. Would like to go to 35 whelen on a standard barrelled 30-06, muzzle diameter .600 approx.

Food for thought; $1100 for a new barrel at KS Arms, and knowing it will be a shooter, or dump $300 to $600 to rebore, and have no guarantee of accuracy.

Not sure how many people do rebores
Personally I’d go with a new custom barrel

Re-bore a Marlin 336 30-30 to 38-55 .376 groove to be able to use jacketed .375 and .377 bullets with a 1-16 twist. I'm running Jet Bullets cast .379 270gr GC FN 1.08" group at 100 yards 1600fps

Ron Smith has done lots of rebores, never heard of a bad one coming out of his shop

These days he won't take on a project unless A. He likes you or B. your idea interests him. He has a fondness for old cartridges ,big cartridges and of course his .256 Newton.

Yup. Know all about that! Luvky for me i am into single shot rifles and not so common cartridges!
