A little back ground on this rifle, it's a 6BR. chambered with a .272 no turn neck( I do skim turn Lapua brass) with zero free bore( Thank you Henry) in a slight gain twist(13.85-13.75) 4 groove Bartlein barrel attached to M700 stainless SA single shot with a PT&G bolt trued up( yup, Henry) using a Trigger Tech Diamond set as low as it would go(4ozs). I full length bedded it into a laminate BR stock with the intention to shoot it "free recoil".
Run a low node in it to start with to break it in a bit.

I soon found out 2 things, the Diamond wasn't low enough for pull weight and my rings were to low. New extra high rings and replacing the TT with a Jewell BR set at 1.5 oz. solved those issues.
Then decided to bump the load up(N135 powder) for the 68 gr. BT Stinger Ballistic Killer Bees(shameless plug for Wally) for a higher node, another 1.2 grns.

Anyway ,got the desired result I was after. It shoots very well out to 300 yards which is what it was intended for, short range Score BR.

I found a box of Hornady 30 cal 160g FTX at a local shop and made 20 rounds using Leverevolution powder....see if the 30-30 likes them.....sure a neat looking 30-30 round!

As long as they are accurate to about 150 I will be good to go....its a yet to be established experiment...lol

My marlin loves 36g of leverlution under the 165ftx but its a bit spicy in some of the m94s I have tried that load in. I also have a box of the 140g mono flex bullets from hornady that i thought would make good moose/ elk bullets.

My two Marlin 336's both loved 34.5-35.0 grains Lvr powder and the FTX 160's...

Zeroed a new scope on my 280 Ruger , originally shooting 178ELDX's, yesterday
I threw some 145 LRX's together and rezeroed .
They are fine for hunting out to 500, but I will fine today because I am certain I can cut the accuracy in half.
Yesterday with switching winds it was still MOA or less with shots from 200 to 500.

Only lost one primer trying to seat in S&B brass. Tight primer pockets and I had safety glasses on

Switched up the 280 load to 139 CX's this evening and Hybrid100V for the powder.
everything checked out from 200 to 500, now to get something other than paper and steel in the danged cross hairs!

Was finally able to squeeze a good group out of the 243 M77 that has been eluding me the last few weeks. Was getting worried on that one as it seemed to be throwing 1 of 3 shots, and nothing consistent on either 2nd or 3rd to throw out. Settled in with RL16, magnum primer and 87 gr Hornady SP. Still want to try a 100 gr Sierra tipped gameking.

Nailed it with my 44 mag henry as well, with a nice HOT over max load using imr4227. (As per manuals anyways.) 24.5 grs and she settled in nicely. Flung about 100 rounds of flat nose on sat with my son. Was great fun. Hoping to use the 240 grain HP for a kill next weekend.

I have slowly been going through all my surplus stuff, inventorying it, and putting it up for sale so others can have access to these hard to come by items. It has been a lot of work but I have freed up a ton of space.

Also, loaded up some 257 Bee ammo. Finally found a load that shoots quite a bit better than the Factory Weatherby Select ammo I bought for the brass. Was quite a challenge to beat the consistent .3 3 shot groups. Same was true with my 7x57 where the Sellier and Bellot factory ammo would consistently do .5. It tells you just how good factory ammo has become over the years.

If I didn't shoot as much as I do, and didn't shoot a bunch of cartridges where the factory ammo is so ridiculously expensive, think 338-378 Weatherby at $180 a box vs $35 to reload, it would be hard to make an argument for reloading.

There is lots of factory ammunition that is hard to find, and it doesn't even have to be odd ball wildcats. As hard as components are to find, they are still easier to come by than factory ammo.

At $80 per 50 pack for the 44 mag I would have shot over $200 of factory loads, instead it was closer to $40.

A week ago I tried these bullets with 4064 powder for the first time.
10, 2 shot groups .5 gr apart starting at 48.5 gr to 53 grs. Zowie 5 groups were less than 1/2", 3 other groups were less than 1" , this seems to be the go to powder.
Today I built 4 shot confirmation groups for the five groups above to see which to settle on as my hunting round, I will test these tomorrow.
Rifle is a Husqvarna 1640.

51.5 grs under the 165 gr hornady interlock wins
2925 fps 0.664" group

Loaded 200 rounds of .357mag. Cleaned some range pick-up cases too. Not much, I know. But I haven’t shot anything in over a month and I needed some therapy.

I tried out my stainless pin tumbler on a bunch of 6.5 PRC and22-250 brass the other day. Does a way better job of the old walnut media tumbler but it is kind of a messy time consuming ordeal.

Did a full length resize tonight on 100 Prc and 100 22-250 brass.

I've spent the past few nights doing lots of measuring and comparing brass and bullets, finally loaded up a few rounds last night for my new to me 6PPC benchrest rifle. Definitely making a big jump up the ladder with this gun! Hoping to shoot it in a few nights.

I realized I have been hunting with only about a dozen rounds of ammo available...so I loaded a box of 280 Remington with my pet load of Barnes 145 LRX, RL26 magic dust, CCI 200 primers in fire formed 30-06 RP brass.

Thank you, I'm certainly looking forward to it! Managed to get 2000 Federal small match primers last night, and at a good price so I'm happy about that. The gun is a shooter, previous owner won Canadian Nationals with it - lots of expectation for me to live up to, especially being new to BR.
