That lake does, however, holds bulls, cuts, brooks, splake, rainbows however these are become more and more rare as the years progress.
And there was at least one Pike in it in 1981. I caught it and gave it to F&G who were at the dock when we were coming off.

Default Yeah right!!

First off, this is obviously fake, and I wish these idiotic trollers would screw off, but wouldnt it be cool if it wasn’t? Also, was anyone fishing there around the time that they actually did release a bunch of different species into the lake and catch anything? Imagine pulling in a huge Atlantic salmon without even knowning they were in there!

I bet you any money he knew about the Kokanee being stocked in the past. I mean, it would have been a lot more clever if he used a less accessible picture. Then I might have actually believed it.

We fished that lake in the 70's through the 90's almost every weekend it was open. Never saw a pike BUT had heard this story a few times. The river is, after all, not that far away and you could still catch a pike as far upstream as the park boundary I am told. Just take one guy with a bucket and game on.

People have caught cutties, brookies, rainbows and bulls in that lake - we have caught most of these on rare occasion ourselves. Splake are not uncommon.

The limits were way too high in the 70's and 80's. That lake was grossly over harvested and I remember every boat coming off the lake with heavy stringers of of fish.

Amazing Lake - too bad the fishing is now so tough, the recruitment so low, and the government refuses to promote stocking of either forage or game fish.

And now for quite awhile I've heard they are guiding on the lake. They get quite ****ed when you follow them. Have not been for 10 yrs + at least but have friends who still fish it. Don't get caught with any lead in your boat or tackle box smaller than pretty much that would sink your boat.

The lake has had guides on it for at least 30 years. One of their boats, is the same one I used to see as a kid out there. Same boat same guiding service.

The few times I've fished that lake in the last 8-10 years or so, the guide is on the same places that produce fish. The first point and hippy woods (if that's still the name it referred to).

That's a lake where 99% of the fish live in 1% of the structure - and unless you know where to look, you are coming home empty handed. Problem is, even in those "good spots" the fishing is nothing compared to what it used to be.
