Default Recent Lac La Biche Reports?

The boys finally have a Sunday off from hockey so I promised them an ice fishing trip. We decided on Lac La Biche - anyone been out recently?

I was out there yesterday. 30 inches of ice, fishing was terrible and you can pretty much drive anywhere since there is 0 snow. Have fun !

Default Recent Lac La Biche Reports?

There's tons of lakes around lac la biche I want to try, I'm always working around here but never drove up there on my weekends off yet. I think I'll wait to take the boat out as it's easier to find fish in the lakes I have no experience with.

Fished La biche a couple times this year. Absolutely dead ???? It was better last year. Can't figure out why it's so dead ???

I agree, it was great last year... and this year it has been terrible. I seen tons of "people" netting it this year in late December, early January. Only other reason I can think of is the lack of snow making visibility a factor. A lot of lakes have been slow this year.

Was out this past sunday and found it to be alot slower then usual. Also found the water to be very murky compared to the last couple of years. Managed to hook into several undersized pike and a half dozen eyes on the ol' jaw jacker.

Hopefully it picks up in march.

You have to know where to go on this lake,my last outing I put over 30 walleye on the ice,30lb,10,8,5,4 pike. No I didnt weigh them ,the pike was 46-48" long and just barely fit up an 8" hole.I spent a good 10 min fighting it on a small rod and another 10 trying to line it big head up so I could get it up the hole. The walleye were 2lb-8lb.All the fish are super fat and healthy. When searching for a good area keep in mind the ling are spawning, find them and you will find the rest!
