It all going to felt and that is why it doesn't matter. If someone says they get $12 for a summer beaver I believe them.
I laughed a bit (sorry Dave) when you guys were talking about rubbed beaver and they were not good. You will get paid within a couple bucks as if they were perfect. I averaged just over $15 on mine last sale with 38 of them. It's not great but I had a good mix of all sizes and grades. You could see the difference in what the grade and sizes did and my conclusion the last couple sales of seeing the same is it all comes down to size basically. I don't even cringe like I used to if I knick a hole in a hide anymore.

I don't think that what my beaver pelts sell for is going to keep me awake at night.

I'll have to disagree with there only being a couple of bucks difference between the grades though. Here's an example of the price difference between grades for some of mine in the last auction:

134042 3XL-XXL *I PL-XP 28.00

134048 3XL-XXL SLT PL-XP 17.50

134101 XL *I DBR-BR 19.50 (Top Lot)

134109 XL SDG DBR-BR 13.00

Obviously I'd much rather catch a *I than a SLT or a SDG but like I said, it's not enough money to keep me awake at night.

We could all post numbers Dave.
Here are a few more for ya.
3XL-XXL DG2 13.50
3XL-XXL SDG DBR 15.00
3XL-XXL SDG BR-PL 4 14.00
3XL-XXL DG1 14.00
3XL-XXL SLT BR 19.00

Those are the prices in US. 13 beaver and only one was the bottom one worth 19 bucks so 12 of them were 13.50 to 15 bucks us. so for $5.50 difference you can have a DG2 and an SLT. I would hope in the future that would be a wider spread. Tells me it's more size than anything.

XSM *I 2.00
LM *I DBR-BR 9.00
I had some good ones but I guess size does matter lol

Well ya Nube, generally a larger pelt is going to be worth more than a smaller pelt. There’s more fur on them even if there’s a hole in the pelt. That’s not what you said though.

That’s not true at all and what I was trying to demonstrate with the prices that I posted above. Compare those $15 damaged 3XL ones to the *I 3XL ones that sold for $28 and $30. *I pelts are worth twice as much, not just a couple of bucks. That slip of the knife that you’re not worried about could be a $10 to $15 “oops” on one of those. When I caught those two rubbed ones I never said that they were no good, I’ll probably get around $15 for them but I won’t get $30.
