You get what you pay for
I had a friend recommend someone in Bc that he had used so sent him a barrel with some pitting to reblue. did exactly that and charged $200 as he wasnt happy with the color consistency so sent it back to the tank for a second swim.
2-3 years later the pitting started to show through.
Sent it to a gunsmith in Quebec who charged over $300 but stated it was lifetime guarantee as he takes it down to bare metal including buffing out any pitting. That was only 2 years ago but barrel looks like new still with deep blue black finish (like Sako). I will give it 1 or 2 more years just to be sure and then will tell you the $300 was worth it for the extra attention and detail to the metal before putting the finish on. Buy once cry once!
