Default Under Water Camera Lights

It might be a dummy question:

I believe by the regulation, we're not allowed to use light to attract fish. What about the lights on lens?

The way I interpret the regs is... if your underwater lights are in the proximity of your fishing gear you may be getting a ticket depending on the officer checking you out. The only light I "think" you can get away with is if you have an actual lure/hook that has a small light built into it creating a glow. But I believe its actual "lights", that are the issue as they would illuminate a larger area and attract more fish. Either way, I'd get something in writing from F&W and carry it with you. Tickets suck.

Right in the regs:
Quote:
General Sportfishing Restrictions

It Is Unlawful To:
-Use lights to sportfish unless the light is attached to a hook or line used in angling. This includes visible lights that are emitted by underwater cameras.
This is very vague though. One could argue any light source, like a lantern in your shack must be attached to a hook or line using in angling. If you have infra red lights then your are no longer in the visible spectrum.

I just keep my light off if I have a hook in the water.
