Default All by myself on the ice today

Everyone else must have been working...

Lots of good ice...............more than 20 inches...................I've never fished hard water this late in the year.

I was down to my tshirt at 1100 this morning. Don't know what the temperature was but it was hot and zero wind. Caught a doz or so and kept these. Biggest was 21 inches...

An unbeliever? I'm flattered by your unbelief

This was the closest to the 1st of Apr but I don't think I actually fished that day...

By the size of these fish and the ones shown later they are all from a private pond. Heritage, Bonavista or Auburn in Calgary is my best guess.

Never fished a private pond. An Alberta stocked lake accessible to anyone. One just needs to know how and where to fish the lake.

I was in that area the first weekend of the month and there was definataly ice. I took all my fishing gear with me to the cabin but never made it out onto any of the lakes. Had a sort of family/work issue come up and stayed in for weekend. There is probably still enough ice to fish some of these areas rite now if you know where it is. From behind the cabin there was probably 2-3ft of snow on ice when got there and it snowed probably 6" the first night. This was the weekend of the 6th

Default All alone again today

Not quite.......just my buddy and I Pulled out 18 or so rainbows and kept 7 between us. Largest keeper was 19.5 inches and surprisingly my buddy pulled out a 23+ inch and heavy bully. Put up a tremendous struggle of 5 minutes or so with quite a few long runs. Hauled out, measured, smile and back in the water. I don't know why no one was out there today, lots of ice, sunny, 20 degrees, full on sunburn and having to turn on the air conditioning in the truck on the way home from ice fishing......... priceless. Geese and sand hill cranes were putting on performances all day. Thank you Lord.
