Default Transferring data/app’s to new phone?

Is it best to do that direct wirelessly or to use the cloud? My cloud is backed up and I’m most concerned about passwords and my wallet. Thanks.

Might be easier to just back up on a computer and install the backup on the new phone?

Work just gave me a new iPhone XR last week to replace my old iPhone SE.

I installed iTunes, backed up onto my PC and then restored to the new phone after moving the micro SD card into the new phone and going through the basic setup.

I couldn't backup to the cloud as I didn't have enough cloud storage and I wasn't going to pay for more when I could do the backup to my computer.

Just did the wife's. From a computer was much much faster than the cloud route.

if Android they come with smartswitch and a cable. Plug the cable into the phones, designate source and destination, hit go. Done.
