Default Edmonton Horseback riding

My wife has been wanting to go out horseback riding for some time. Nothing too crazy, and close to Edmonton. Maybe like an hour ride.
Anyways, all I seem to find is either lessons which require an 8 week commitment or a trail ride where the horses basically follow each other and you basically just sit on them.

Does anyone know a place around Edmonton where you can get a better horseback riding experience. I have ridden horse before, so just looking for something a bit more exciting where you can actually steer the horse etc. (I am not looking to gallop or anything too crazy).

Thanks,

My Wife's friend runs Rosebush Equine out on Fort Sask. They might have something for you.

Trendsetter stables is about 20 mins east of the city, they have very flexible times, and excellent instructors.
