Default Car alarm with a mind of it's own

Dad's 05 F150 vehicle alarm keeps going off every morning right around 10 am. Goes of two or 3 times consecutively(reset and will go off again within a minute) then nothing till the next day. Dad has owned this truck for years and this issue just started recently. No new work has been done, no new electronics added. Battery replaced by me in January, all wires still attached where they were before the battery change.

Did a google search, checked for a pin under the hood, nothing, just a mercury switch. Bent bracket to keep it from moving, both ways, still going off. Found the switch to turn off but the lever is broke due to whoever installing it beside the emerg brake and your foot hitting it, so I unplugged the switch. Still going off.

I un screwed the ground wire under the hood. Still went off today right on time.

I guess I need to find the main box and un plug the alarm?

Far as I know it is from the factory or installed when the truck was new. All key fob buttons work, car starter works. Just this darn alarm goes off. I will cut the siren wire if I can't figure it out before I use it to go on holidays lol.

Just wondering if anyone has had a ghost in their car alarms and had a solution other than disconnecting. Not a big deal if the security alarm has to be disconnected.

Thanks

Take truck to JB Automotive in NW Edmonton. They are Wizards with alarms and remote starts. If they can't fix it no one else will.

Hope this sort of relates to help find the issue, I had a car with anti-theft feature and the alarm would only go off in the middle of the night. Don’t recall how I figured it out, but with the kids getting in and out of the car and the seat belt getting slammed in the door way more times than I can count, there was a knob that would depress down every time the door was closed to initiate the alarm if door was opened while alarmed. Well this little knob was beaten up on passenger side it wasn’t working properly; I just dismantled it until I was able to get it fixed..

Agree, something the dealer installed when new is what dad was told when he bought it. Second owner.

Disconnect it. Nobody is stealing a thirteen year old F-150.

Sometimes a low battery will set them off.

I have heard that but the battery is a top line CT brand and only a few months old. No indication its weak as my tester shows 12 to 13V
