Hi Fellas,
i'm a new to alberta and also a new hunter, could to please advise me few decent spots for whitetail close to calgary area....i got savage 7-mm

Hello faiz.

I'm not familiar with the Calgary area, but if I were to plan a hunt in that area I would scope out the territory using Google Earth.
I would look for river valleys and patches of bush that connect to fence-rows.

I would then drive those areas I found to see if I could find deer sign.
If I found deer trails or saw deer then I would ask the land owner for permission to hunt that land.

That's the best I can do for you. No doubt some of the local folks could offer more specific ideas. Don't be surprised if no one offers though.
Most of the more experience hunters have learned the hard way that it is not a good idea to reveal places where game can be found unless you know a person very well.

This is a great site for info and experience...that being said, everyone on here that has harvested animals has gone out and done some scouting, checking for permission et al...you won't find a Deer, Elk or Moose here, get out and burn some gas and wear out some boot leather. Good Luck to you!!!, hope you find one!!
