Default French Speech in Texas

Just listened on UTUBE to the speech given to the world class oilmen in Texas.

He must have taken his audience for grade three students.

Below the script. In my view an embarrassment to the Western Canadian oil industry. He may as well bring on the NEP now and fix the price at 75 bucks a barrel. I can see him admitting the wrong time and place for the NEP but I am sure he will save Pierres face here along the way.

Trump is removing restrictions. Shiny pony is adding layers. Old school indeed.

Just when I thought he was at the height of stupidity, he raises the bar. What an embarassment.

You can only ask yourself...what's next??????

I also see they presented him with an Environmental award....or was it just a mental award?

Turdeau wasn't speaking pig-latin when he said" We've got to shut down the oilsands".

My favourite quotes from that link, his own words.

Now I’m not being disloyal when I say this. It’s just a historical fact. The NEP introduced a level of state control over energy that hurt growth and jobs. It became hugely controversial. Consequently, when I began my run for the leadership in 2012, 30 years later, the Trudeau name was mud in Alberta, still.

A Trudeau, it was said, could not get elected dog-catcher in Alberta.

Yes , he states these opinions of him in the past tense, as if things have changed and Alberta currently helped vote him in. He is a sickening individual.

If one were to look up the word "idiot" in the dictionary, there would be no text to read defining the word, just a picture of our "shiny pony"!!

I was overjoyed to learn Canadians actually light their campfire before the sun goes down. I'm sure the Texans are impressed.

The analogy was pathetic at most.

Go Justin, go !
The more he speaks, the dumber he looks, the sooner people look beyond the hair, and the sooner we'll be rid of him.

I love it when he speaks in his usual condescending manner. It might make his fellow effete elitists giggle, but it sure serves to alienate the rest of us. Keep it up Justin Please-Love-Me Trudeau !

I laughed at that one too, especially since in a lot of Canada in the major camping season the sun doesn't go down till after we go to bed! I for one won't wait till 1:30 A.M. to light my campfire to cook my dinner or roast hot dogs with the kids / grandkids

I'm sure fearless leader has only every camped where there was 24 hour room service.

When he was elected with a majority I was incredulous. My thoughts - he is not very sharp. I don't think he had anything to do with writing this or any of his recent speeches. Tasks like this appear to me to be beyond his abilities. His pedigree as a part time drama teacher is serving him well it seems, based on his popularity in the east.

I saw him attempt to answer a question about regulatory imbalance that is sure to come with Trump. Either he didn't understand the question or he completely skirted it. It was embarassing. I wish they'd introduce him as Prime Minister of Eastern Canada from now on.

I really miss Harper. (actually I also miss Chretien compared to our current idiot in chief...and that's saying a lot)

Not enough to do a speech like that.

He's so impressed with himself he's left little room for anyone else to join him.

Fair enough Cat, but your still wrong. 0.3% of the Lone Star State speaks "French", 90% of those people are transits from Louisiana and they speak Creole (a butchered version of the French language, so they wouldn't have understood him regardless). I would hardly claim less then 1% to be lots. It would have worked out better if he went down there attempting to speak Tex Mex. In my opinion, the fact that he went down there and even spoke Canadian French is an embarrassment.

You do know that Trudeau was addressing World oil execs, not Texans??? And he got a standing ovation.

Some on here should get out more, see the world, at least more than your own political agenda before you start a rant.

And no, I didn't vote for him.

I know exactly what I am speaking about and if you want to get technical Creole and Acadian French are as different as Northern French and and Montreal French and Parisian French
Those people I work with and met are living in Texas and working in administrative positions , some are from East Texas , and some from other parts of North America
That fact remains that they are in a Texas .
you people need to get past all the gossip you love to spew about politicians and get on with your lives .
Look at the title of this thread - if says a lot more about what the OP was trying to stir up than the actual content .

My opinion it's still bs, English should have been spoken only, he can do that back here for the Quebecer's, or if he is doing a press briefing.

Why should he have only spoken English?
Do you think it would make s difference?
You think he shouldn't be allowed ??
Like I said you people need to get a life if you think his speaking anything other than English impacts anything in your world

You bet the French language has mutated into a bunch of dialects. As pointed out above Trudeau was addressing the World Stage which overwhelmingly speaks PARISIAN FRENCH. With the exception of North America.

Ever been to Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Chad, etc., etc..? They ALL speak PARISIAN French.

He might as well have been speaking Farsi.

Really doesn't matter anyway because the rest of the content of his oration was very embarrasing.

It isn't that hard for people who speak Acadian/Quebec/France French to understand each other. It's more like throwing a Texan, a Newfie and a Brit together at the same table. They will all be speaking the same language, even if they sound totally different. I'm pretty sure anyone who understands French understands him when Justin speaks in french. He speaks it more slowly and clearly than most.

This guy is hairlariusly embarrassing.

I studied French four years in high school, grew up in an area of Ontario where French was commonly spoken. So I guess i'm bisexual. I can ignore what he says in French and Hinglish.

He is a pompass ass who 'appens to be da PM. Hopefully he will be a one hit wonder.
