Default Diving in Hockey

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/f...ed-nhl-diving/

I defianetly do not agree with unsportsmanship but this has gone to far!
Seriously....Fining a player after the fact. Call the play on the ice or let it go...

What has the rules in the NHL become?

The game has definitely evolved.
It's like watching soccer now in so many ways.

But penalize the player right away....Giving the player a fine afterwards is ASS backwards I say

Gee, I'm sure Johnny Hockey there cares about that $2,000 fine when he's only making $6,750,000 a year...

Divers are a blight on the ice. 3 dives and you're out of the league (and you relinquish your man card).

I was at that game sitting on that end and the shaft of the stick goes right under Jonnies viser high up by the glove you can kind of see it but from that angle doesn't show it that well.

Agreed. It has slowed down the diving of a few serial offenders from the past couple years. It is not the cost of it that effects them, it is having their name plastered as a diver that is the deterrent. It is hard to judge embellishment at full speed no different than principle point of contact on hits. I wish they could fine them more!

I like the way it is being handled. Peer pressure is pretty potent especially if you are outed as a diver. It also draws the zebras attention to specific divers for "special" attention.
