Belize Flyfishing?
Anyone have any resort recommendations? My wife would rather birdwatch than fish but I want to hunt bonefish and permit

What part of Belize will you be in?

I've been to Belize a couple of times, over 20 years ago, and on a shoestring budget. The fishing was pretty good, and tarpon and bonefish are common in most areas. Not sure what your budget is, but check out:

I did a week at Turnif flats a few years ago.
Beautiful set up, good boats, food, accommodations were really good.
Saw a bunch of permit , didn't catch any of course, got some bones to 8lbs and some baby tarpon.
I was with some guys on that trip but thought that this was really a good place to come back with family.
Best bet is check their website, I know they run specials quite often.
Great place to kick back and relax if your not fishing

Turneffe Flats. You will have shots at bones, tarpon, permit, snook, and barracuda. Wife can snorkel, scuba dive or just relax on the beach. Food is good. So are accomadations.

Thanks All
I'm also going to Cuba (4th trip) in April so this trip would be more for my wife. She wants her birds which means jungle, but I'm kind of hoping there is a resort which caters to both...not too concerned about price.
Ideally, there would be some flats close to the resort which I could wander around on, I don't really need a guide. Would probably just take my 8 weight down.

My wife and I hired El Pescador guides to fish (and they are also great if you are looking at an all inclusive type trip - 2nd hand info from friends that have gone multiple times). We stayed at "Wish You Were Here at Sunset Beach", through VRBO and it was AWESOME, all though it was about a 10 minute taxi ride from San Pedro (which was fine for us). All the guides and scuba trips pick you up at the condo so wasn't an issue. If you are a diver, I have a great reco (that ISN'T a cattle car type scuba shop as 90% are there) - Island Divers.
