Default Thoughts on 6.5x47 Lapua

Just looking for some input on the 6.5x47 Lapua.
I have an opportunity to make a deal on one with a 26" Ron Smith 1-8' Twist barrel, Rem 700 action, HS Precision stock and Wyatt box.
Round count is ZERO.
As per the deal it will be chambered and assembled by Rempel.
What is everyones thoughts on the 6.5x47?
From what I have read so far it would make a very nice Deer/Antelope rifle and be a whole lotta fun at the range. Plus the 6.5x47 seems to be less popular than the rest of the 6.5's (Creedmoor, 260, 6.5x55) which adds to the cool factor.
Anything I should be worried or concerned about?
Thanks in advance

I had a 6.5x47 and it was a nice cartridge. I would rather have the 6.5x47 than a 6.5 Creedmoor.

I have one with a Defiance Deviant action, 29" Benchmark barrel on an AICS chassis shooting 123 gr. Scenars in front of 37.7 grains of Varget. I have had zero grief to date, it's a pleasure to shoot and easy to work with.

What is the actual case capacity difference between the x47 and the creedmoor?

I have several barrels chambered to 6.5 X 47 L ... I can't compare with the Creedmore, but have shot plenty of 260 Rem and 6.5 X 55 . Among the latter, I have found it easier to tune. From a 26" barrel, I would be expecting velocities close to 2900fps with 130gr Berger VLD(H) pushed by H4350. The case will hold about 42 gr of H4350 sitting just below the shoulder/neck junction. The case neck is relatively long which helps seating long bullets close to the lands. Even long bullets, seated long will fit in most standard short action magazines so the extended Wyatt box should be more insurance than you would ever need. I have used 1:8 twist for all my '47s. Of course you have to load for the '47 ... It will be effective on any game for which you would use the 260 or 55 Swede.

I've had the same results as 260 Rem, I've cut my barrel down to 21" and am still getting over 2800fps with 130 vld's and H4350, same results as him also in regarding seating length , I'm loading out of a AICS detachable mag seated to the lands and no issues. Super accurate with little to no tuning and next to no recoil, 130 vlds, H4350 and CCI450's work exceptionally well in the rifles I've loaded for and seem to be very effective on game as well. Zero issues with the small primer either in temps as low as -30. Probably very underrated as far as a hunting cartridge is concerned.

Thanks for all the info.
Now to line up some brass and projectiles.
H4350 seems to be the go to powder for the 6.5x47 L

Some get good results with RE 15/ Varget and lighter bullets. I pretty much stick with CCI - BR 4 primers. I haven't purchased brass for a few years but it is relatively expensive (bit of annealing makes 20+ reloads a realistic expectation).

I think I will end up shooting either 130 or 140gr Bergers Hunting VLD's. They seem to be readily available and quite popular.
