Default Dogs

Didn't know what to call this thread..."Dogs" sums it up best I think

Because many of us have been through the same thing.

Quote:
Sergeant Kyle Smith, from North Carolina, bid an emotional farewell to four-legged companion Bodza after the German Shepherd was put down.

A picture showed Kyle's giving his partner a tender hug as the dead dog was draped in the US flag.

Thousands have shared the picture since it emerged on social media.

Kyle said the decision to put down Bodza was one of the hardest he has ever had to make.

The pair served side-by-side on four military tours before the soldier adopted him when Bodza retired in 2014.

Kyle noticed the dog's health began to suffer last year when he had trouble jumping on the back of his truck.

As his symptoms worsened, Bodza was diagnosed him with degenerative myelopathy.

It led Kyle to make the heartbreaking decision to put him down to end his suffering.

Kyle also revealed he bought Bodza a final treat from McDonald's before the emotional farewell.

He added: "He got a Big Mac. He didn’t leave a crumb."
Used to split the fries with my dog all the time...went through McDonalds 3 times in the last couple days of her life just to split the fries.

RIP Bodza and condolences to Sergeant Smith

Darn sweat got in my eyes again making them water. Memories are poignant
Picture says a lot. Can't even fathom what those two went through.

Dog served his country selfishly...even though he was just being 'a dog' with his handler. Proud to see the Sgt drape a Flag over his buddy.
The Rainbow Bridge must be renamed The Bridge of Honor for those dogs who Served.

Duke is having a dream at my feet as I read this. Dread the day I lose his friendship. Dogs are totally selfless.

Damm that pic hits you in the guts. One way or another, by choice or not, we have to say goodbye to those furry buggers that give so much.

Oh Damn Red.
Ya for sure one of our worst.
Ranks right up there for sure.

My girl had been gone for 10 year now and friends still talk about her
She was a "Disney" dog if I ever knew one.
