Default Savage question

I have a savage Alaskan in 375 ruger. Question is can I install a 338 lapua barrel from a 110 which are both large shank and the pressures are near the same I think 375 ruger is more than lapua and just change the bolt head. Info on this would be appreciated

Sounds like a question for savage customer service. They are every easy to deal with and if you leave a message they'll get back to you same day usually.

I don't think you'd have any issues with action strength, but maybe, just possibly with action length. The Lapua is around .341" longer than the Ruger, by SAAMI specs. Possibly more if you want to load a 'slippery' bullet to the lands.
