Default help me find a scope..

I need to find a decent scope with a short ocular lens (less than 2.5" or so) and generous eye relief. I want to mount it in front of the hammer on my H&R instead of putting it on high rings above the hammer. The Bushnell elite 3200 I have doesn't fit by about 1/4". I'd love a leupold fixed 4x but can't afford one atm, anyone got any suggestions in the $2-300 range? bear in mind that it's going on a 35 whelen so it's gotta be able to handle a little recoil.

Thanks

Use a Dura Sight Z2 one piece mount with a hammer extension... perfect cheek weld for most shooters and extremely solid for heavy recoil... I have them on my /06 swap barrel set as well as my Handi heavy recoilers; 9.3X74, .45/120 and .35 Whelen Improved.

Check out the leupold fx 2, the fixed 2.5 power model. It has 5 " of eye relief and may just squeeze in there. They are very durable as well. I have one on my 4570

You should just buy that 1-4 and your problem is very likely solved.
