Default Lac La Biche Area Ice?

Anyone been in the general area this week to see if ice is forming around the edges of most of the larger lakes there yet?

If so, would it still be possible to launch a boat?

We've had a trip planned to the area for a few months and weren't anticipating ice to be a concern.

We can brave the cold but will want to save ourselves the 5 hour drive if we can't even get on the water.

Any info would be appreciated.

Also wondering about lakes around Lac La Biche area. We're supposed to leave town tonight after work for a fishing trip this weekend. 5 hour drive...

Just don't want to risk damaging my buddies boat if the ice build up is an issue.

Thanks

Tried Pinehurst on the 23rd and 25th.

No ice around the launch at all, was smooth getting the boat in. Wasn't nearly as cold up there as it was down between Calgary and Edmonton.

Tough fishing though with the rapid drop in water temps.
