Default Bullet drop?

Hi, my name is Harley and I am 15 years old, I have been having some trouble trying to find 22lr bullet drop charts for specific bullets (CCI 22lr hyper velocity, 32 grain, with a muzzle velocity of 1640 fps, and the Remington yellow jacket HP weighing at 32 grains, with a muzzle velocity of 1500 fps). I would like to know how far these bullets will drop at 50y, 100y and 150y if i sight my 22lr in at 50y. I plan to make my own bullet drop chart from this information for hunting gophers and coyotes at long range, can anyone help?

Do you have ballistic coefficients (BCs) for the different rounds?

I really like this site (someone here posted it): http://www.jbmballistics.com/cgi-bin...j_simp-5.0.cgi

If you have the bullet diameter, bullet weight, muzzle velocity, and BC it'll give you whatever you need.

Harley it is just awesome that you are researching your two fav rounds' trajectories. You sound like a responsible hunter, and are -or will soon be- a very good shot. Have a nice Christmas.

P.S.1: Please let us know what you find out and how you put it to good use.
P.S.2: What kind of rifle/sights have you got?

Basic drop info. From this you can calculate the BC of the bullet to use in the ballistics calculators or you can put in BCs to the link below unntil you get 100 yard drops that match CCIs and then you have the BC to use for other ranges.

As a starting point, the 32 grain bullet at 1640 will have a B.C. of .090 and most 22LR bullets will be .1350.

Happy New Year and good shooting

Very good link. Has all the BCs you would ever want plus lots of info on the 22LR.

hey harley, john here just wanted to tell you that if you are not getting a consistent trajectory out to 100-150 yards it is because 22lr ammo is not precision long range ammunition if you find you cant get sub 1'' groups at 100 yards it is because the ammo is not consistantly loaded if you want to see what i mean you can take 3 or 4 cartridges out of your case, pull the bullet out of them and weigh the powder in each of them you will find they are loaded with anywhere from 7-10 grains... which will not matter if you are shooting less than 100 yards but you will be hard pressed to get precision accurracy over 100 yards and it has nothing to with your shooting ability or your gun it is simply the ammo.
(ps. hope this helps and good luck with your coyote hunting)

100 yards with a 22 for coyote? this is a little bit of a long shot isn't it? at least from what I know a 22 seems a little small for that range

I certainly would not rely on charts when shooting any animal. It is both more accurate, and simpler to just sight your gun in at 50 yards ,then shoot it at 100 yards and 150 yards and see for yourself where the point of impact is at those ranges.
