I have had a Tempuredic for a few years, and I wouldn't go back to a regular mattress.

Bought a Tempurpedic about 7-8 years ago, will never buy anything different. Still looks and feels like new. Tried cheaping out initially with a costco memory foam mattress, returned it 2 days later.

Same for me, but there are some cheaper options popping up on the internet. If I did it again I would try a Novasbed or Endy. Free trial, no shipping.

Don't you find them hot? We tried one, I couldn't stop sweating. Even a foam pillow sucks super bad.
Try to find a regular mattress with out any kind of foam on top. Our new one is a 'hybrid' and I still get hot at night. need my room at 18c to be even remotely comfortable. Meanwhile my wife is under a down duvet with a electric blanket.

The wife wanted a Tempur-Pedic,
I said no way.
One wife at a time is enough.
I don't want no mattress reminding me of all the mistakes I've made.

I've been looking at the Novosbed
I don't think you can go wrong with a free 120 day trial + the Comfort plus option
How's the edges of the tempur-pedic holding up??

I got my first FoamKing Mattress about 15 or so years ago. Would never go back to a regular mattress. Back troubles went away about a month after purchase. I just got a new one last year. Wanted bigger size this time. I use a medium density 8 inch thick one. Its one piece no layers.
I dont use memory foam as it can be hot. Also i find memory foam is to soft and is usually just a thin layer on one side of foam mattress. I like to be able to flip mine over periodically so dont want the additional layer anyway.
Go to the Foam King website. They have lots of info on the available types of foam or go to the store in west end if you are around Edmonton. They have various models all set up to try out.

The thought of spending the money on a descent bed never appealed to me.
Why spend that much money on a bed when you can get a ok one for $500 and spend that money on better things.
After 10 years the wife talked me into buying a good bed we found one that we liked and it was on sale. I think we paid around 3k for the mattress because it was on sale. That's almost as much money as my best rifle!
Best money we ever spent! I don't recall the brand but it is a memory foam. I had a hard time getting used to getting a good nights rest in less time.
For the first few weeks I would go to bed at regular time (10:30) but then wake up fully rested and ready to start my day at 2 am. Since switching beds I've been getting a much better value of sleep, needing less time to get the same amount of rest.

After getting a recommendation from a friend, i ordered an Endy mattress...
Best thousand bucks I’ve ever spent! I’ve had back problems for years, and my wife and i are both light sleepers - we were constantly waking each other up. Now that we have this new mattress, my wife and i both sleep great, and my back is much better.
Can’t aay enough good things about it. Free returns within 100 days too.

I bought an Endy in June of this year and absolutely love it. I don't find it hot at all either, even during those hot nights with no AC.

My memory foam has cooling gel infused. It’s cool. Almost too cool. But I can’t sleep if I’m even a tad warm.

My first wife ended any interest I had in new beds.
We were always broke but nevertheless she had to have a water bed back when they were the thing to have.
She bought a used water bed and about a week after she bought it the heater quit working. I hated that thing like I never hated anything before or since.
A cold bed is bad enough but a cold bed that sucks all the heat away for most of the night is torture akin to water boarding. Replacement heaters were no longer available for that model so our choices were live with it or take the loss.
She would not admit it was he** on earth so we endured.
Ever since then I refuse to have anything but an old fashioned mattress in my house.
I'd rather sleep on the floor then risk a repeat of that water bed experience.

Some people get a thrill out of taking risks. I don't.
Old fashioned mattress work. That is why they are still available.
Much of the new offerings are smoke and mirrors. I'd rather stick with something I know works then follow the crowd and regret it.
Once was enough for me. But some never learn.

Endy Mattress
thinking of buying this mattress, still undecided because of split reviews. 100 day return policy I don't think I can get better than that though.

In regards to the Tempr pedic. Are the happy users back sleepers or side sleepers ? When it comes to foam mattresses I recall reading awhile back that some types are preferential to others. I am primarily a side sleeper as is my wife.

Wife and I, over 27 years have had a Sears mattress (Sealy?), a Serta, another Sealy, and for the last 8 an Obusforme. That one has been our favorite by far, and will replace with another at some point in the distant future. Still great for now. I think it's a hybrid, memory foam over pocket coil springs, good support, cool, but very comfy.
