does anyone have an accurate 223 semi auto they'd like to brag about??? I have been looking into the AR-15s and Mini 14 and really want one but im worried about the accuracy... I really need it to be a reliable semi auto and looks are immportant but not as much as accuracy. I'd like to be able to be taking coyotes at 500m and less.
Let me know what you all have and how you like them for the dollar... and if you do long distance shooting with them as well.
Well don't know of them all but I hear that the Mini 14 Target from Ruger is acc. as heck. Now the old reg minis where notoriously bad for acc. but from what i read it came as a result of light barrels and old tooling. The reg mini's they make now have a heavier barrel and are alot better but the 2 target models they make are suppose to be great.
Now I hear also that a company is making a 223 AR platform with a heavy barrel. But AR's are classified as resricted in Canada, I think and only can be shot at a range. Or so the Gun smith was telling me while I was eyeing one.
well i have my restricted but shooting it only at a range would not be good for my means at all... those do look like nice mini 14's i like the idea behind the adjustable harmonic dampener. thumbhole stock would be nice too.
Very accurate with 62 gr or better bullets, but expensive. But on the other hand when or if you ever sell it, the rifle is very desirable and you will get your money back.
very vice lookin gun there... how many shots can fit that clip?
unfortunatly i think im gonna limit myself to a grand or so for the gun.... since its only gonna be for small game hunting.... id rather spend the extra money on bullets than the rifle. too bad AR-s cant be hunted with... i really liked bushmaster.
