Default Bit of a breeze down south...

Castle mountain recorded 185km/h winds at the top of Red Chair

After my truck got sandblasted by the gravel on the road... we decided toshut down our elk hunting early.

Wish we woulda closed the deal on em yesterday.

It’s unfortunate
We know exactly where the herd is.

Another group has access today.... and it’s just plain difficult to get there.. even if they use horses.

Funny them mulies.... they don’t care... they’re just feedin away.

Bessie. I have a lady friend leaving Cranbrook in 15 min headed to Calgary. Would you say it is safe to drive for a woman on her own?

There looks like snow on the border.

Depends on what she’s driving and how good she is at the wheel.

The gusts can take the wheel out of your hand.

If it’s a small car and she’s a timid driver... I’d stay put maybe.

I just talked her into driving through Invermere. Longer but the wind will be better. Thanks for the heads up.

Talking Ya, just Hurricane level 3 gusts is all...

The wind just broke off the wind speed sign east of Lundbreck..it had been registering 181. Apparently 22 is a mess, blowovers, blowing dirt and even small rocks, and now someone says fire is reported. A great page to check conditions is this one...drivers keep it very up to date.
Hang on to yer hats!!

I just came by that sign. Was laughing at it being blown over.
Then a wind gust came up, blowing gravel and ditch debris, all over the road.
3 small cracks in the windshield now. Stay home if you can.

Both on hwy 22 it seems

Fire fighters and community still working on it.

Wind seems to be a bit down in the Pass here.

One on 22, one east of that just above the Old Man River. Sounds like the one further east is contained. Still have a few friends there on stand by with water trucks.

Blowing like hell here again now...

You are making me really miss living in Pincher...

Sounds like the water in the toilets would be going up and down 4" and slopping over the rim today, with that kind of wind on the vent stack!

Hope the fires are out

Just talked to a long time resident of Lethbridge and I was decided that in their 40 plus years there this is by far the strongest wind they have experienced. D.H.

So glad I went down there on Friday instead of Saturday....

Still, I forgot to tighten down my hat to the Pass setting before getting out of the truck.... got lucky and only had to walk 200 yards east to get it back.

Tried setting up the ice fishing tent, took 30 mins and then we fished for 45 and not even a nibble.

Trying to walk out on the glare ice was sketchy. Walk 10ft forward and get blown 15 back.

It's going to be a good time too look for arrowheads. Some of the fields I walk will have moved lots of top soil. I just have to wait for the snow to melt.

Screw that noise! Take a kids kite out and you’d end up touching down in Ontario!

When we lived in Pincher, and it really blew, we would open our coats like a para-suit, spread our arms and see if we could lean into the wind 45 degrees without falling flat....somedays, I think we did. I really don't miss it.

If you tried that yesterday, they could pick you up in Lethbridge.
