Default Ring on bullet.

Is this going to cause me any trouble with accuracy?Should I send the die back or will it over time dull a bit?. Yes I'm a rookie. Did some 7mm and no ring, this is for a 270wsm and brand new dies.

Ring that big is not really good but it normally take a lot of pressure to do that. I would polish the seater, but I would also look at whether you are using hte right diameter bulletfor sure.270 versus .284 for a 7MM. Don't trust the box, measure them with a caliper that goes down to .001. or better a micrometer that goes to.0001. If they are the right size I would next check how big the opening on the case is BEFORE you seat the bullet. You expander plug may not be opening it up enough after it is resized. The amount of shaved copper in the picture makes me VERY suspicous that it is not the seater that is the problem. Let us know what you find.

Do you chamfer the inside of the case mouth? That will make for easier loading especially on new brass.

Bullet checks out .277 inside brass was .274. That one in the pick had a bad fold or rip in so I didn't size or chamfer it. I used one that was sized and chamfered and it wasn't as bad but still there. How do you polish the seater?

.003" neck tension is good, .002" is perfect! Does you die have interchangeable seater cups?

Yes, but only minimal on my brush as I read it wasn't good to over lube the neck.
