might be nice to look at but if you do your due diligence researching the reliability history of Jeep products, you might lose interest rather quickly.
Although, that being said, I have read some good things about the latest iteration of the Grand Cherokee.
I suppose I should consider taking my own advice....I seem to have a serious addiction to MK4 VW products...

The GF has a TDI Jetta wagon too, great on fuel and havent had any big issues with it. Best value for a car these days IMO.

It does, but it remains forbidden fruit in these parts

Forget jeep trucks if you want a good compact truck to use off road look at a Tacoma

I have been a jeep guy for a number of years. Find me a more reliable engine than the inline 6 4 liter???? Unfortunately the new jeeps no longer have the bullet proof inline 6 configuration. I have owned 6 jeeps with zero reliability issues......

A buddies Cherokee ran pretty well until the engine crapped the bed shortly after it rolled over 400,000 km on the odo.

That Jeep truck is a conversion kit you can buy straight from Mopar and do it yourself. Or have a shop build it. Very cool.
Im a jeep guy too first car was an 88 cherokee.. ahh good times.
Had 4 others too, now Ive got an 09 Grand with the Mercedes Diesel. Think I might keep it a while

Buddy has a new jeep... its amazing. The only thing compared to his old one is the newer ones have a weaker turning radius.. also the wheel base is a little bigger. It can still do pretty much whatever though, Jeeps are great off-roading vehicles.

Yup....
The problem is that they have a history of neimng off the road too much.
Things have changed but the stigma that developed while AMC had them lives on.

Looks to me all they did was put a box on wrangler and moved the rear wheels to under the box. Never was a fan of the wranglers in the first place and has definately not changed my mind.

The Pentastar is a V shaped config. While the 4 liter was Jeeps straight (inline) 6. People getting the same kind of life out of the Pentastar that the inline 6 was famous for? Don't know much about the Pentastar myself....
