Default gophers

Out to the rose bud, weather perfect, put me down for another 223. Wind dropped rolled a few over 100m. To be continued.

Hey guys~quick question... I'm headed out there May.26, but had someone tell me gopher numbers aren't what they should be SW of Calgary where we have access to a few properties. Getting a bit anxious about planning a trip for 2 years...and now..might not having good #s of gophers to shoot at! lol

If anyone has any ideas on where we should look if things don't pan-out, please don't hesitate to PM me. We're spending about 10 days out there..and ideally we'd like to stay within a 1- hour radius of Calgary. Flexible though...could/would drive a little further if need be.

We're shooting 22 and 17HMR primarily.

Thanks for taking a moment to consider,

Rob

numbers here are WAAAY down. that last snow killed a huge amount of them. don't know if the snow/wet/cold gave them hypothermia or pneumonia, but the local population has really taken a dive.

hard hunting 996 + 5608 = 6604

6604+3=6607

Fields that are normally crawling with gophers are virtually bare. They have been shot out pretty good in the last few years but we always make sure to leave some but this is crazy low numbers.

Forgot the bug spray. Probably got as many mosquito bites as I shot gophers.
Thankfully the wind picked up.

8122 + 324 = 8446
