Default My 2008 Antelope

Trying to send pictures hope this works. Great it worked. I took a great Antelope this year it's the best one I've shot. We did a lot of prescouting & looked at a lot of different buck but this is the one I liked the most we spotted him on Monday night. Then went back on Tuesday morning & took another look at him but I decided to leave him & go do some more scouting. At about 4:00pm on Tuesday After looking at hundreds of bucks over the past 5 days I decided that I was going to take him so we headed back to the area were we had seen him last & he was only about 400 yards from were we had seen him last. I'd love to be able to tell you all that I had to make a stealthy stock across the open prairie but the truth is I had my buddies drop me off at the corner of a fence line. I walked about 300 yards down the fence line then took a shot from 140 yard away shot over his back & hit the burm on the dugout he was standing in front of. The does he was with bolted & took off running. Not him. He just stared at the side of the burm & didn't even glance my way or take a step. I reloaded. Aimed a little lower & squeezed another shot off. This connected squarely. He took about 10 steps after the shot tipped over. When my buddies got over to to me standing with my new trophy they asked what happened with the first shot I told them that I was distracting the buck & making sure the does weren't going to get in the way. We took a bunch of pictures cleaned him up & headed to town for the celebration we ruff scored him at around 79-80 inches. The rest of the week was spent hunting geese, grouse & partridge. Was great time & I will never forget it. It's too bad I'll have to wait another 8 years or more to get another trophy Antelope. Sorry About the pick I had to shrink it quite abit to get to upload.

Default Antelope

Thanks to everyone. I am going to get a shoulder mount done. The length was 15 & change. It's all a little foggy we had a few celebratory beer & libations. 4 of us measured him. I came up with the lowest score of 78 1/2 & my buddy came up with 80 & change. No matter the score he will look great on the wall & I'm very thankful for being able harvest suck a great trophy. Now it's time to prepare for the deer hunt. Good luck to all of you this season.
