... I recently came into possesion of a nice tanned Coyote and a beautifull tanned Wolf. The Coyote is "split" or open, but the Wolf is cased. Can someone tell me what would be the purpose of tanning a Wolf cased? Is this a regular way of tanning a Wolf, or even a Coyote?
... I was thinking of having a hat or gloves made from the Wolf pelt. Any recommendations for someone within reasonable distance of Edm? I'm terrible at using AO search function. Thanks.

It was probably tanned cased for show( didn't plan on making rug or mount) although you can still do these after tanning. You can skin anything cased and have it tanned that way doesn't make a difference at the tanneries but if your going to rug it etc anyway then might as well skin that way. Most tanneries charge a bit more for cased animals.
