From another dog lover
I know what you are going through and you have my deepest sympathy.
I kind of have it figured that Sienna and I will go out together, I'm 72 and she is 4.

I am 78 and my dog, female and an ex fighting dog, have been together for about 11 years, she was 1 1/2 old. I am NOT looking forward to putting her down. I just hope I go before she does. I feel your pain.

The AO Forum is a great place to post your Loss.
Allot of us have, or have had, Hunten dogs. We understand the close bond that Hunten dogs have with us in the field and at home as simply part of the family. We grieve with you for your loss as it makes us think of the time when we must make that decision or the time when we made that decision to end our dogs suffering. We understand and will readily and sincerly offer our condolences.
Your dogs will live on in your heart and mind forever.

Sorry to hear you lost another. Been there. A vet is always the best option to deal with the end but sometimes circumstances dictate other paths. I hope you don't get too hung up on the deed you had to do, more that it ended what sounds like some serious suffering for a loved pet who would never hold that against you. Condolences and take care.

Damn it I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread. I have lost 5 good dogs over the years so I know how you feel. Thank goodness no one is in the control room with me right now as iam crying like a baby. Iam going to go home and hug my 2 labs.

It is but it isn't. Sometimes it's hard to read these threads
Sorry for the loss. Gets better with time, but one never forgets.

Sorry for your loss, Daisy is pain free now. Remember all dogs go to heaven. I can sympathize and feel your pain, as a dog owner. Best regards
