Default Reloading instruction / courses

Good afternoon,

I am considering starting to reload. I always seem to struggle in finding ammunition when I need it - so this seems like a logical solution.

My questions is as follows - is there anyone / shops in calgary that offer reloading courses or instruction?

Thanks

Lee reloading manual has in depth instruction for the technicalities of using the equipment and components. Im sure the other companies that make equipment also publish a book on reloading. Otherwise I would suggest swinging by someones house who reloads and going through it. Its kind of like cooking. There's a lot of personal flavour involved in what each person chooses to load. If you follow the instructions for your equipment you will make standard quality ammo.

Dont get Lee lube. Get RCBS Case lube and Lube pad. Its way better.

Front part of a reloading manual and youtube will be your good friends. Read twice. Watch twice. Do.

youtube is your friend in this case. basics are well covered, and so are advanced techniques. matter of fact, pretty much everything is well explained except the best gopher patches.

If you are a member of SPFGA, a Reloading Demo is scheduled for May, 14 ... no cost.

If you read a couple of loading manuals, and do some research into learning how to recognize pressure signs, you can soon be loading safe ,functional ammunition. Pay special attention into beginning with a starting load, and working up your loads, since contrary to what some people believe, not all loads listed in all manuals, will be safe in all rifles. Some people get the stupid idea that it's just a waste of time to work up loads, and they start with a maximum load listed in a manual, or online , and they are the people that usually end up having to beat a bolt open, or end up ruining their cases because the primer pockets won't hold a primer after one or two firings.
Once you are comfortable loading safe ammunition, you can start learning how to develop the most accurate loads for your firearm, as it's not usually as simple as choosing the so called" most accurate load" from some manual. Sometimes you get lucky and find a great load almost immediately, and sometimes you find out that your rifle is fussy, and it can result in having to try several bullet/powder combinations, before you find one that your rifle shoots very accurately.
