Yes there are elk out there but they are only in a few small bands - some on private lands. Now that the rut is wound down, leaves are down, no snow - they will be very hard to locate! I bow hunted these units quite hard for 10 years and never fired an arrow!
Good luck,

We have seen some cows this year in the area, no legal bulls yet. As 330 is open for rifle now, I am going to wait to hunt this area a little harder with the bow next year as most of the area we are hunting is fairly overgrown. In my opinion, at this time of the year there are alot better areas to be hunting with the bow for elk than 330. Lots of bears and wolves though!

Default 330

I hunt that area every year for deer, but we have seen elk. Not very many but they are there, last year one guy in are camp shot one (lucky). Late season would be best when there is lots of snow and tracking would help..

As someone already mention there are small bands of Elk in 330 and 328 along the Sunchild road, actually I saw an Elk on Tuesday (it would have been an easy kill)....but he was not legal yet. Saw him while I was walking.

I hope I see these animals when I am there. Are these sightings close to your home? Ever see anything in your yard?
